Alignment Archetypes Overview

The Alignment Archetype Map isn’t a personality test.

It’s a way of understanding how your nervous system learned to respond under pressure, and what alignment looks like when that survival response is no longer running the show.

When life feels overwhelming, tense, or uncertain, we all default to a familiar pattern. These patterns once helped us cope, stay connected, or remain functional. They’re not flaws. They’re adaptive responses.

This map simply helps you recognise:

  • the survival identity you default to under stress

  • the armour your nervous system uses to stay safe

  • and the embodied power that allows a more aligned response to emerge

You may recognise yourself clearly in one archetype, or notice elements of several. That’s normal. These are patterns, not boxes.

The Survival Archetypes

Each survival archetype reflects a different way the nervous system learned to protect you when something felt at risk.

Each pattern comes with real strengths, and a real cost when it runs unchecked. 

Overwhelmed Thinker

Safety through thinking, analysing, and mental control

Over-Extended Pleaser

Safety through care, harmony, and over-giving

Over-Restrained Peacekeeper

Safety through restraint, quietness, and emotional containment

Over-Driven Achiever

Safety through effort, momentum, and constant doing

From Survival to Alignment

Every survival pattern points towards an aligned capacity. Alignment isn’t about fixing yourself or becoming someone new. It’s about restoring the embodied power your nervous system needs so that survival strategies are no longer required.

As alignment integrates, effort softens, clarity returns, and choice becomes available again. Life begins to feel less reactive and more intentional, even under pressure.
